When I was in high school, I was that kid who used to DJ football games, run lights and sound at rallies and was into everything technical I could get my hands on. I took broadcasting for 3 years and you would often see me with a camera or microphone in my hand. At my church I was a dedicated sound engineer and a musician.
After high school I joined the US Navy. I was a shipboard Air Traffic Controller stationed aboard the USS Carl Vinson. While traveling the world I never stopped learning. While stationed aboard ship I joined a band and also collaborated with other sailors on their mixing projects.
After my tour was finished in the Navy I moved to the Sacramento region and a few years later started my first business ‘Lobo Stuart Video Productions’. The business was named after my 2 Bulldogs I had at the time, Lobo and Stuart. My business had a primary focus of shooting wedding films. I learned a lot more about editing and mixing than I ever had before. This was a rewarding experience. I was afforded an opportunity to see just about every wedding DJ setup there is.
A few years ago, a friend of mine got me thinking about starting a DJ company. I was at a get together mixing the music as I always do for my friends and she asked, “If you like DJing for us all of the time, then why don’t you just.. do that?” At that point I started asking myself the same question. Shooting weddings had been a part time gig but I was ready to take on something more full time, and doing what I love. It was shortly after that I launched Harjo Productions, with the primary focus on DJing for weddings. I love that I can use my past experience in the wedding industry to give my clients what is in my opinion, the very best of what Northern California has to offer in the DJ market.
